Common Types of Pavement Marking Paint

Water-Based Paint
These paints are normally the most affordable paints to use for pavement marking but also some of the least durable over time. They are also known as more of an environmentally friendly option as, in their name, the base of these paints is water-based.

Thermoplastic Paint
A newer form of paint pavement marking, thermoplastic paint is becoming one of the more durable, which also means expensive, methods of marking. Completed by heating thermoplastic to 450 degrees and then laid onto the pavement to form a bond while cooling.

Work Case
Century Traffic was happy to take on the project of installing the pavement marking for the bicyclists’ lanes on both sides of North Avenue in Wauwatosa, WI. This was the first time that the green bicycle lanes were tested in Wisconsin and we feel like it turned out extremely well. We worked closely with the engineering and county to make sure that outcome of this project would be the continued safety of the riders along the road.

Whether you’re looking for a less expensive solution, a repair to some markings already, or a more durable and long-lasting solution to your pavement marking project, Century Traffic has you covered with the different pavement marking solutions we specialize in.
